With immense gratitude and excitement, we announce a new strategic partnership with Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute that advances the Elevate Campaign vision to build an extraordinary multisport athletic facility for all Highlanders and our community.
Their naming sponsorship establishes the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Athletic Center at the Lake Highland Athletic Complex (LHAC). This 48,000 square foot athletic center will feature exceptional competition and training spaces serving 700 athletes on 54 teams across 17 sports, including a tournament gymnasium for 1,200 spectators, a 3-mat wrestling arena and fitness center, and an archery range. Highlander athletes will also benefit from the center’s sports medicine center, locker rooms, fitness center, hospitality suite, reception hall/film room, golf simulator room, and coaches’ offices. A lighted turf field will be built adjacent to the athletic center.
LHP President Jim McIntyre said, “Lake Highland is deeply grateful to Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute for its visionary naming sponsorship of the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Athletic Center. Our institutions share similar missions and values. We both strive for excellence each day as we serve our communities. Trust is at the heart of our relationships. We are nationally recognized institutions and professionals in our respective fields of education and healthcare. And we are both devoted to helping grow strong minds, bodies, and spirits. We look forward to watching talented athletes develop, learn, compete, and excel within the OHJOI Center!”
Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute President and CEO Michael Jablonski, MD is excited to be part of this meaningful project. “This marks the continuation of our deep-rooted partnership with LHPS and longstanding support of the school’s excellent athletic programs. We’re proud to name this facility as it will elevate the competition and sports spaces for LHP athletes and visiting students from across the region. We know that participating in sports is a great way to build healthy habits beginning at a young age and we are grateful to be part of this effort.”
Lake Highland’s Athletic Director Charmaine Schreiber expressed elation over the impact of the naming sponsorship. “The OHJOI Center establishes a remarkable athletic facility that will benefit not only our Highlander athletes, but also thousands of athletes from other schools across our region and nation. Athletes are leaders who are trained far beyond their sport. They learn decision-making, gratitude, problem-solving, hard work, and fortitude. We are immensely thankful to Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute for its vision and support as together, we create leaders for tomorrow.”
Fundraising continues for the OHJOI Center. We invite your participation in this extraordinary opportunity to build extraordinary leaders. To learn more about the Elevate Campaign and ways you can invest in our vision and our students, please contact a member of Lake Highland’s Advancement Team.
