With profound gratitude, we announce a $1 million gift to Lake Highland’s Together We Can: Elevate Highlanders Campaign from the Brian Tillman family.
The Tillman family’s gift will name the Student Center in the planned Upper School Center for Innovation & Academics. The Tillman Family Student Center will be the campus center for student life at Lake Highland. It will encompass a collegiate-style student union, an innovative library, a dynamic student activity hub, and a café.
“Our family is blessed to be a part of the Lake Highland family and we are super excited for the awesome facilities planned for our school. Serena and I hope that all LHP families who have the good fortune to do so will join us to help make this vision for the school’s future a reality.” Brian Tillman
Lake Highland is in the early, foundational giving phase of the Together We Can: Elevate Highlanders Campaign. The comprehensive Campaign was inspired by the school’s most recent Strategic Plan and 50th-anniversary celebration, and it focuses on five significant priorities for the school that will elevate all aspects of the Lake Highland educational experience:
Multisport Athletic Facility
This new facility at the Lake Highland Athletics Complex will feature a wrestling arena, full-size court for basketball, volleyball, and cheerleading, an outdoor archery range, locker rooms, concession stand, and a lighted turf field for all field sports.
The Arts District
This extensive renovation of the Calkins building will offer exceptional rehearsal spaces and classrooms for orchestra, band, chorus, and performing arts.
Endowment
Lake Highland will expand its endowment with a focus on growing endowments for Financial Aid, STEM, Leadership & Character Development, and Faculty Enrichment, as well as funding for new endowments.
The Highlander Fund
Growing support for the Highlander Fund, LHP’s foundational annual fundraising program that addresses the school’s greatest needs, remains a top priority.
“With their incredibly generous gift, the Tillman family has invested in our top priorities to elevate the LHP educational experience to even greater heights, and we are so thankful to them. The Tillman Family Student Center in the Upper School Center for Innovation & Academics will be an energetic, collaborative place of interaction, learning, and growth for all our Upper School Highlanders and more.” Vice Admiral Al Harms (USN, Ret.), President
